Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What makes SwimSafer Stage 6 Gold the highest level?

The sixth level is all about mastery. Your children will combine everything they have learned from long-distance swimming to complex life-saving and survival skills, to give them confidence and be fully competent in any underwater environment.

2. Will my child get a certificate after completing this stage?

Our coaches teach the full Stage 6 syllabus and test sequence shown above. Training at a condominium does not automatically include an official SwimSafer assessment or certificate. Confirm current assessment requirements and arrangements separately through our Condo SwimSafer guide.

3. Why does my child need to learn butterfly stroke and survival floating techniques?

Butterfly swimming helps to enhance strength and coordination, while swimming such as sidestroke and backstroke helps to save energy and safety — very useful when swimming for a long distance or waiting for rescue in a wide water area.

4. What’s the purpose of removing pants and turning them into a float?

This teaches improvised flotation, which is an important self-help skill if there is no life jacket. Children learn how to use everyday clothes to float and practice the H.E.L.P. position to stay warm and visible in water.

5. How do I know if my child is ready for this advanced level?

If you have completed the previous SwimSafer stage and feel confident about all kinds of swimming and underwater challenges, then you are ready. Our coach will ensure that your child will make progress at a safe speed and provide you with appropriate support.
