The Shelford Swimming Lessons

Residents of The Shelford can enquire about private or compatible small-group swimming lessons in the management-confirmed main communal swimming pool. Coaching may suit children, adult beginners and swimmers improving technique, subject to occupied-unit entitlement, resident-authorised access, management permission, safe current conditions and coach availability.

CondoSwimming.sg is independent of The Shelford, its developer, MCST and managing agent. It cannot grant entry, approve an external coach or reserve pool space. Every visit requires an eligible occupied unit and resident authorisation.

Use the main pool, not the leisure-water areas

Current exact-project sources identify The Shelford as an occupied freehold condominium on Shelford Road with 215 homes, completed in 2005. Transactions through June 2026 and current August 2026 listings support continuing occupation. Sources use swimming-pool and lap-pool labels, while a project fact sheet describes a main pool of approximately 24.8m by 7m with an approximate depth of 1.2m. Separate sources identify fun, children’s or waterplay areas and a jacuzzi or spa-lounge pool.

Only the management-confirmed main communal swimming pool is proposed for instruction. The fun pool, children’s or waterplay area, jacuzzi, spa-lounge or reflexology pool and every wading, private or decorative water area are excluded. The published dimensions are historical project specifications, not a substitute for checking the present facility.

Management and the coach should verify current usable length and width, depth and any changes, safe entry and exit points, recovery edges, visibility, water condition, lane markings, deck clearance and resident traffic. They should identify every boundary between the main pool and excluded leisure water. Public evidence does not establish current lifeguard provision, quiet periods, maintenance status or external-coaching permission.

Management should confirm the exact occupied unit, access entitlement, visitor registration, external-coach policy, permitted hours, approved teaching zone, equipment restrictions and supervision or group-size limits. No lane, area or time slot should be treated as reserved unless expressly approved.

Children’s swimming lessons

Where the verified main pool safely supports the activity, beginner sessions may develop safe entry and exit, comfortable immersion, controlled exhalation, floating, rotation and a dependable return to the wall. Learners with stable foundations can practise alignment, kicking, coordinated arm actions and breathing over distances appropriate to their readiness.

A parent or authorised adult resident should arrange access and handover, remain contactable and follow current supervision requirements. Share medical, sensory, behavioural or earlier water-safety needs before the lesson so communication, pacing and supervision can be adapted. Progress varies and should not be tied to a guaranteed timetable.

Children should not wait, play or practise in the fun pool, waterplay area, jacuzzi or spa-lounge pool during a CondoSwimming.sg lesson.

Adult beginners and stroke improvement

Adult beginners may work on relaxation, breath control, balance, flotation, standing recovery and repeatable short travel. Existing swimmers may focus on body position, breathing rhythm or coordination through drills suited to the verified main pool. Diving, turns and endurance sets should not be assumed suitable until present depths, permitted zones and traffic are checked.

Approved teaching aids must remain clear of entrances, circulation routes, leisure-water boundaries and emergency equipment. The pool remains a shared residential amenity, so coaching should reduce scope, move or pause whenever safe separation from other users cannot be maintained.

SwimSafer-related practice

Suitable water-safety foundations and SwimSafer-related skills may be practised at The Shelford. Condo practice is not official SwimSafer enrolment, assessment or certification. Formal participation requires separately confirmed registration, an approved venue and an authorised assessment arrangement.

Weather, safety and shared use

Lessons should stop for lightning, heavy rain, strong winds, contamination, poor visibility, maintenance, unsafe crowding or management instruction. Follow current guest, attire, noise, photography and equipment rules. A coach may move, reduce, pause or end an activity whenever conditions become unsuitable.

What to include in an enquiry

Share the learner’s age, ability, objectives, preferred timing, exact occupied unit and relevant safety needs. Confirm resident-authorised access, management permission, the main communal swimming pool, current conditions and coach availability before booking.
