The Commodore Swimming Lessons

The Commodore residents can enquire about private or compatible small-group swimming lessons at their condominium pool. Sessions depend on authorised access, current rules, suitable water, learner needs and coach availability.

CondoSwimming.sg is independent of The Commodore, JBE Holdings, the MCST, managing agent and management office. Confirm visitor and paid-coaching procedures before arranging a lesson.

A 50m lap pool in a 219-home development

URA records The Commodore as a 219-home development completed in Q4 2024. JBE’s current project page confirms the completion year, home count and facilities including a 50m lap pool and children’s pool.

The lap pool supports measurable long-course instruction: one complete length is 50m and a return trip is 100m. The children’s pool serves a different purpose and requires its own depth and suitability check.

Match the lesson to the learner

Young children may use a suitable shallow area for bubbles, entry, floating and recovery, but a children’s pool can be too shallow or busy for horizontal skills. Beginners can work in short sections near a secure edge rather than swimming 50m. Advanced learners can use full lengths for freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke repeats when the course is clear.

Adults may request one-to-one support for confidence, beginner swimming, stroke efficiency or fitness. Include several possible times; exclusive use cannot be promised.

Keep lap and children’s water separate

Normal stroke work should remain in the lap pool. The children’s pool is shared family space and should not be occupied by an adult fitness lesson. Before teaching, check depth, steps, ledges, access points and other swimmers’ routes.

Plan around five low-rise blocks

The resident should provide the approved entrance, block, meeting point and route to the pool. A visiting coach should not search other blocks independently. Keep equipment compact, leave entries clear and use calm voice cues. If the course becomes crowded, switch to short drills or pause.

Confirm management procedures

Ask whether external paid coaches are allowed, whether registration or documents are required, where the coach should meet the resident and whether an escort is needed. Confirm teaching hours, equipment limits, group-size rules and any booking process.

Current management directions take precedence. Resident access does not automatically authorise paid instruction or reserve a lane.

Formal SwimSafer assessment arrangements must be confirmed separately.

Safety and supervision

Stop for lightning, unsafe weather, closures or management directions. Keep learners away from crowded entries and other swimmers’ paths. Children require active adult supervision outside the booked lesson. Tell the coach about relevant medical, sensory, communication or mobility needs.

Rates and enquiry details

Review the published rates, then provide the learner’s age, height, ability, confidence, goals, schedule, group details and support needs. State The Commodore and whether management has approved an external coach.

The Commodore lesson FAQ

Can an external coach teach here?

Possibly, when current rules permit paid instruction, access is valid, the pool is suitable and a coach is available. Approval is not assumed.

Is the lap pool 50 metres long?

Yes. JBE’s current project page identifies a 50m lap pool. Current markings, depth and available space still require an on-site check.

Can beginners learn in a 50m pool?

Potentially. They can work over short sections near a safe edge rather than completing full lengths.

Can an adult request a female coach?

Yes. Matching depends on location, schedule, lesson needs and availability.
