Residents of Le Shantier may enquire about private swimming lessons at the estate’s communal swimming pool, subject to occupied-unit entitlement, resident-authorised access, management permission, current conditions and coach availability. The exact block and unit at 4 Shan Road or 519 Balestier Road must be confirmed before booking.

Learning at the communal pool
Le Shantier is a completed and occupied two-block, 32-unit development. Current exact-project records identify the estate, its communal swimming pool, recent rental transactions through April 2026 and current sale and rental listings. This supports established residential use and a current private-estate access model.
Only a current management-confirmed communal main swimming pool is proposed for lessons. No dimension, depth, lane length or uninterrupted lesson area is assumed. Management should confirm the complete water inventory, pool boundaries, usable length, depths, correct block access route, maintenance status and external-coach rules.
Any wading, children’s, spa, jacuzzi, fun, private, reflective, hydrotherapy, jet or decorative water area is excluded. A nearby public pool or another development’s pool is outside this page’s scope.
Lessons for children and adults
Children can work on safe entry and exit, breath control, floating, balance, recovery and early propulsion. Lessons may progress toward freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke foundations, coordinated breathing and age-appropriate water-safety habits where the confirmed shared space permits.
Adults can begin as complete beginners, rebuild confidence after a break or improve technique. Nervous learners may start with calm exhalation, supported balance and short controlled movements. Intermediate swimmers can focus on body position, timing and efficiency, while endurance training depends on verified pool dimensions and shared use.
SwimSafer-related skills may be practised, but lessons at Le Shantier are not official SwimSafer enrolment, assessment or certification. Official stages and awards require an authorised programme and assessment venue.
Two-block access and etiquette
Le Shantier is private residential property, not a public swimming complex. An eligible occupied-unit resident must confirm communal-facility entitlement, the correct facility route, guest registration, external-coach permission, lesson hours, group-size limits and equipment restrictions with current management or security. Access to one block does not by itself prove entitlement through every entrance.
Lessons should use a compact area, avoid busy periods, control noise and equipment and yield to residents. Management, security, privacy and photography requirements take priority. Sessions stop during lightning risk, maintenance, contamination, poor visibility, unsafe deck conditions or official closure. No lifeguard is assumed, and children and non-swimmers require active supervision.
Before enquiring
Please provide the learner’s age, ability, goals, preferred schedule, exact block and unit, confirmation of resident entitlement and management’s current external-coach position. Mention relevant medical conditions, injuries, sensory needs, learning needs or significant water anxiety.
Acceptance remains conditional on exact-project identity, occupied-unit entitlement, resident-authorised access, management permission, verified communal-pool suitability, safe conditions and coach availability. Another permitted venue may be recommended if the pool is restricted or unsuitable.
Frequently asked questions
Can beginners learn at Le Shantier?
Possibly. A coach must first confirm suitable depth, a safe teaching area and management permission.
Is a specific pool length guaranteed?
No. Current evidence confirms a swimming pool but not reliable operating dimensions.
Can a visitor book without a resident?
Not independently. Access must be linked to an eligible occupied unit and authorised under current rules.
